Why is Budweiser betting on digital horses? đ

Letâs get started đĽ
Budweiser takes its horses to the Metaverse đÂ
Whatâs happening â Budweiser has partnered with an NFT horse racing game, Zed Run, to double down on its growing Web3 ambitions.Â
The latest move from Budweiser adds to the $120,000 it spent on NFT fan art and the beer.eth domain name (think the new age version of your â.comâ website) in August 2021.
Now with Zed Run, the company will airdrop gaming skins of its iconic horse, Clydesdale, build an in-game race track and introduce challenges with cash rewards of as high as $185K+.Â
Whatâs Zed Run? Â Zed Run is one of the most popular play to earn (P2E) games in the market. In short, Players can buy, breed, and race digital horses, which are represented by NFTs. You buy a horse, pay to enter a race, and take home a portion of the pot if you're successful.Â
For some stats, the company has over $300 million in the secondary NFT market (yes, users have $300M worth of horses in the game).Â
Whatâs our take? - Budweiser is wanting to catch the wave with a new growing audience in the web3 world. Taking an early lead over its rivals, can help them grow faster and stand out. We believe thereâs a world out there where large brands will be looking at games first over traditional media to reach out to new audiences.
Hollywood is coming to the Metaverse đĽÂ
Whatâs poppinâ â Ridley Scott, the director of epics like Gladiator, Alien and Blade Runner, has signed a deal with virtual world Decentraland and Hong Kong-based Lumiere to build a metaverse and NFT experience for his upcoming film âThe Infinite Machineâ.Â
The movie is based on the best selling book of the same name and tells the story of how Ethereum (eth), the worldâs second-largest cryptocurrency, was created.
Why care? The film will be the first large scale NFT funded movie in cinema history, which paves the way for movies and media to be funded in the future. We believe this movie might also help pop culture get a glimpse into this world.
